This is a CIA military coup. It was announced this morning (Feb 10, 2011) by CIA diretor Leon Penetta in testimony to the House Intellegence Committee. The people in the foreground are the the walk - ons. Will it be Omar "Sheikh al-Torture" Suleiman, the CIA contact, ruling alone or will it be a military junta, which will include this guy Defense Minister Field Marshal Mohammed Hussein Tantawi, the Defencse Minister, and the Chief of Staff of the Army Lieutenant General Sami Annan
Why? Mubarak had been fighting the US on many issues. In August of 2009, the US had demanded a US nuclear umbrella for Israel, the Saudis, Egypt and the Emirates of the Gulf, all against Iran. To create that Arab, Sunni and Israel and US front against the Iranians and Mubarak said no. I will not negotiate with Israel unless I negotiate with them directly and get certain things in return. That encouraged the Saudis to say no. There is also a conflict about what is going to happen in Lebanon. Mubarak did not want the future of Lebanon determined by this fake report - the United Nations commission which is corrupt as the day is long. The future of Lebanon should not depend on some outside committee. Jan 19th. Obama calls Mubarak and thank him for supporting the commission, which was a heavy handed warning because Mubarak was not in support.
He's like Admiral Fox Fallon three years ago, he doesn't want WWIII. He's a butcher, but he wouldn't get in line for WWIII, the strategic attacks on Iran, so they are sending a message to Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Yemen. Do what we say or we will trigger your overthrows. The attack on Iran comes closer.
Egypt is eliminated, the Saudi caved and you have a clear path to Iran.
